Causes And Remedial Action

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Relative movements and direct contact between the hinge pillar and upper front wheel housing can cause creaking/clicking noises.

If a complaint is received in relation to vehicles manufactured before the date of introduction May 2006, all contact between the cut edge of the hinge pillar and the transition area of the wheel housing flange must be eliminated by bending the cut edges apart.
