Vehicle Identification Number

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

After replacing the body or the sheet metal parts in the area of the vehicle identification number (firewall), the original vehicle identification number must be reimprinted onto the new body or the new sheet metal part.

The documentation of the imprinted vehicle identification number in the vehicle supplementary document or legally permissible treatment can be obtained from the importer of the respective country.

An incorrectly imprinted (stamped) vehicle identification number should be permanently crossed through with a X so that it remains legible. The vehicle identification number to be newly imprinted should be imprinted above the crossed through identification number.
