Removing Oil Feed Line - Cylinders 4-6

NOTE: Dirt and contamination
  • Risk of damage to units or components

→ Protect components from dirt and contamination.

→ Clean or replace dirty components.

Oil feed line, cylinder bank 4-6 

  1. Attachment to turbocharger 4-6
  2. Attachment to bracket for turbocharger 4-6
  3. Attachment to cylinder head 4-6
  1. Oil supply line for turbocharger 4-6
  2. External Torx screw M6 x 12
  3. Internal Torx screw, M6 x 10
  4. O-ring, 8.00 x 2.50 N
  5. O-ring, 12.00 x 2.50 N

  1. Remove intake manifold, cylinder bank 4-6.
    1. 1.1. Disconnect cable plug from electronic adjuster -1-  .
    2. 1.2. Unscrew two M6 x 12 external Torx screws -Pfeile-  .

    3. 1.3. Detach intake manifold at connection piece and detach from bracket on engine.
    4. 1.4. Detach vacuum line -3-  from ambient air valve.
    5. 1.5. Disconnecting positive crankcase ventilation -4-  .

  2. Detach holding clamp -2-  for oil feed line -1-  on bracket.
    1. 2.1. Unscrew M6 x 12 external Torx screw.

  3. Detach oil feed line from cylinder head 4-6.
    NOTE: Mixing fluids
    • Risk of damage to components

    → Close off all openings immediately after exposing them (with adhesive tape, suitable stoppers).

    1. 3.1. Unscrew M6 x 12 external Torx screw -3-  and detach oil feed line.
  4. Unscrew M6 x 12 external Torx screw -2-  on coolant line bracket.

    NOTE: Mixing fluids
    • Risk of damage to components

    → Close off all openings immediately after exposing them (with adhesive tape, suitable stoppers).

  5. Detach three lines at turbocharger and lay lines aside.

    Close off bores immediately after detaching a line  .

    1. 5.1. Detach vent line -1-  to turbocharger oil tank. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw and detach line.
    2. 5.2. Detach lower coolant line -2-  . Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw and detach line.
    3. 5.3. Detach upper coolant line -3-  . Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw and detach line.
    4. 5.4. Removal is the same as for bank 1-3.
      1. Vent line to turbocharger oil tank.
      2. Lower coolant line.
      3. Upper coolant line.

  6. Detach oil feed line -2-  from turbocharger.
    NOTE: Mixing fluids
    • Risk of damage to components

    → Close off all openings immediately after exposing them (with adhesive tape, suitable stoppers).

    1. 6.1. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw and detach line.

  7. Guide out oil feed line.
  8. Replace O-rings on all lines and clean connections. 
  9. Make sure to check connection bores on turbocharger for dirt and clean carefully.
