Removing Spark Plugs

- Screw off M6 nut -1- on protective plate.
- Unscrew two Torx screws (M6 x 20) -arrows- on the turbocharger.
- Pull intake air lines out of the flange on the turbocharger.
- Press intake air lines out of the brackets -arrow-
in the engine compartment.
WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

- Support engine with a mounting jack.
- Screw off M12 collar nuts on the two engine mountings.
- Carefully lower the engine.
- Remove heat shields at the sides by screwing off the two speed nuts on each one → 635019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR BUMPER - "Removing" section.
- Release cable plugs -1- on the electronic boost pressure adjusters on the turbochargers and pull them off.
- Unscrew hexagon socket head bolt (M6 x 25) -arrow- on the right electronic adjuster using a long socket-wrench insert (a/f 5) with a ball joint.
- Unscrew hexagon socket head bolts (M6 x 25) -arrows- on the right electronic adjuster using a long socket-wrench insert (a/f 5) with a ball joint.
- Press hinge socket -1- off the ball joint and remove right electronic adjuster.
- Unscrew two Torx screws (M6 x 12) -arrows-
and remove heat shields.

- Slide rubber sleeves down on the ignition coil connectors.
- Release cable plugs -1- and pull them off the ignition coils.
- Unscrew inner Torx screws (M6 x 25) -arrows- . The intake air line must be moved when removing the ignition coil on cylinder 3.
- Remove ignition coils.

- Unscrew the spark plugs using the tool Spark Plug Socket Wrench Nr. 14 with 3/8" Extension, 16° Movable Nr. 15 .
- Screw off M6 nut -1- on protective plate.
- Unscrew two Torx screws (M6 x 20) -arrows- on the turbocharger.
- Pull intake air lines out of the flange on the turbocharger.
- Press intake air lines out of the brackets -arrow-
in the engine compartment.
