Installing Spark Plugs

- Install spark plugs using Spark Plug Socket Wrench Nr. 14
and 3/8" Extension, 16° Moveable Nr. 15
.
→ Tightening torque: 30 Nm (22 ft. lb.)
→ Tightening torque: 25 Nm (19 ft. lb.)
- Insert ignition coils into the spark-plug recesses and tighten the two M6 x 25 Torx screws on each one. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- Insert and tighten ignition coil screws that are difficult to reach (cylinder 2) using a Torx bit with a ball head.
- Connect cable plugs and position rubber sleeves on the coils. The cable plugs must engage audibly; check that they are seated securely.
- Insert the heat shields again and fasten them in place using two Torx screws (M6 x 12) -arrows-
on each one. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

- Clip in hinge socket on electronic adjuster -1- on cylinder bank 4-6.
- Insert and tighten hexagon socket head bolts (M6 x 25) -arrows- using a long socket-wrench insert (a/f 5) with a ball head. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- Insert and tighten hexagon socket head bolt (M6 x 25) -arrow- using a long socket-wrench insert (a/f 5) with a ball head. → Tightening torque 10: Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- Connect cable plugs -1-
to the electronic adjusters and lock them. The cable plugs must engage audibly. Pull on the plugs to check that they are seated securely.
NOTE: Heat protection panels not fitted correctly
- Risk of damage to adjacent parts
→ Make sure the heat protection panels overlap correctly.
→ Replace damaged or deformed heat protection panels.
→ Check heat protection panels for deformation, secure fixing of the aluminum braided cord, cracks and missing or damaged fixing tabs.
→ At least 80% of the total sealing area must be sealed without gaps.
- Fit heat shields at the sides by screwing on and tightening the two speed nuts on each one → 635019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR BUMPER
- "Removing" section. → Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down

→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

- Lift the engine with the mounting jack.
- Fit and tighten M12 collar nuts on the engine mountings. → Tightening torque: 85 Nm (63 ft. lb.)
- Remove mounting jack.
- Press intake air lines with the rubber sleeves into the brackets -arrow- .
- Fit new O-rings on the intake air lines and grease lightly with Kluber Syntheso glep (available from Porsche Parts Service).
- Insert intake air lines into the flanges on the turbocharger.
- Fit M6 nut -1- on the protective plate and tighten it. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- Fit Torx screws (M6 x 20) -arrows- on the intake air lines and tighten them. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
