Installing Catalytic Converter

- Replace lock nuts, turbocharger flange seal and clamps
- Fit new seal on turbocharger flange
Information
- Make sure not to damage the oxygen sensors and cables when removing and installing the catalytic converter.
- Guide catalytic converter and heat shield into the vehicle.
- Align rear silencer at the engine carrier -arrows- and position restraining straps.
- Fit and tighten M8 lock nuts -arrows-. → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.)
- Fit and tighten Torx screw (M6 x 12) on heat shield. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- Tighten cheese head bolts (M8 x 50) -arrows- on restraining straps. → Tightening torque: 15 Nm (11 ft. lb.)
- Position new clamps and tighten M10 fastening nuts. → Adjustment value: 45° → Fitting angle for clamp → Tightening torque: 55 Nm (41 ft. lb.)
- Route oxygen sensor cable and clip it in at the clip-in points.
- Connect plug connections for oxygen sensors in the engine compartment.
