WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. On vehicles up to model year 2009: Install the starter. → 276019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING STARTER

  2. Set the pressure accumulator in place and twist it into position using an oil filter strap. Use an open-ended wrench to tighten the pressure accumulator (tightening torque: 30 Nm (22 ftlb.)).

    → Tightening torque: 30 Nm (22 ftlb.).

  3. Fit holder for the coolant lines on the transmission (underneath the pressure accumulator). Clip coolant lines into the holder on the underside of the transmission.
  4. Fit left drive shaft on transmission flange.

    → Tightening torque: 90 Nm (67 ftlb.)  .

  5. Install (front) transverse strut. Tightening torque for fastening screws -arrows-  .

    → Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)  .

  6. Install rear underbody panelling → 519419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR REAR UNDERBODY .
  7. Connect the battery and perform the necessary subsequent work → 2706IN00 WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY .
  8. Fill Pentosin CHF hydraulic fluid into the reservoirs at the front (luggage compartment) and in the engine compartment. → 300101 CLUTCH: CHECKING FLUID LEVELS .

The reservoir (Pentosin tank) in the engine compartment is for the power steering system and the clutch booster circuit.

The reservoir (Pentosin tank) at the front (luggage compartment) is for the clutch actuating hydraulic system.

  9. Bleed the clutch control system (actuating hydraulic system) → 300107 BLEEDING THE CLUTCH CONTROL SYSTEM .

Then check that the fluid level in the reservoir (Pentosin tank) at the front (in the luggage compartment) -2-  is correct.

  10. Start the engine and bleed the clutch high-pressure hydraulic system (clutch booster circuit). To do this, press the clutch pedal approx. 10 times while the engine is running.

Then switch off the engine and correct the fluid level.

  11. Check the fluid level (Pentosin) with the engine switched off and cold (approx. 20 °C)  .

Requirement: Engine was started and left running (at idle speed) for approx. 20 seconds.

    1. 11.1. Set the correct fluid level - up to MY 2009

Open cap on the reservoir and wipe off dipstick.

Close the cap and then open it again. The fluid level should be in the hatched area beneath the "Cold" marking (Cold marking at approx. 20 °C = max. level). Top up with Pentosin if necessary.

The upper "Hot" marking is intended for a fluid temperature of approx. 80 °C.

Do not add too much Pentosin! The respective markings are for the maximum fluid level at the "COLD" or "HOT" temperature.

    2. 11.2. Set the correct fluid level - from MY 2010 onwards

Open cap on the reservoir and wipe off dipstick.

Close the cap and then open it again. The fluid level should be between the MIN and MAX markings  .

Top up with Pentosin if necessary.
