Install Intake Manifold - (Cylinder Bank 4-6)

Information

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

Torx screws: (E..) for external Torx, (T..) for internal Torx.
Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

Recommended tool for screw connections on intake manifold (designation Hazett):
1. Extension, 147 mm, 1/4 inch
2. Extension, 101.5 mm, 1/4 inch
3. Torx socket-wrench insert E10, 1/4 inch
4. Pivoting extension, 25 mm, 1/4 inch
5. Torx flexible-head socket-wrench insert E10

Information

Always replace gaskets and O-rings.
- Grease all gaskets (except for the cooling system) with Kluber Syntheso Glep (Part No. 000.043.204.68).
Prepare intake manifold -2- for installation.
1. 2.1. Attach new tie-wrap for wire harness to bracket.
2. 2.2. Fit new seals. Coat molded seals to cylinder head lightly with the specified lubricant.
3. 2.3. Insert six M6 x 25 outer Torx screws (E10) -1- .

Install intake manifold -1- with new seals.
1. 3.1. Remove covers from the intake ports.
2. 3.2. Position intake manifold and fit six outer Torx screws in sequence.
3. 3.3. Tighten the screws.
  → Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ft. lb.).
4. 3.4. Connect cable plug -2- for high-pressure sensor.
5. 3.5. Align wire harness -3- .
6. 3.6. Connect vacuum line to vacuum unit.

Fasten wire harness with new tie-wrap -1- .

Fasten lateral bracket -1- for wire harness with two M6 x 12 external Torx screws (E10) -2- .
1. 5.1. Tighten the screws.
  → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.4 ft. lb.).
