Install Intake Manifold - (Cylinder Bank 1-3)

Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
- Torx screws: (E..) for external Torx, (T..) for internal Torx.
- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)
- Recommended tool for screw connections on intake manifold (designation Hazett):
- Extension, 147 mm, 1/4 inch
- Extension, 101.5 mm, 1/4 inch
- Torx socket-wrench insert E10, 1/4 inch
- Pivoting extension, 25 mm, 1/4 inch
- Torx flexible-head socket-wrench insert E10
Information
Always replace gaskets and O-rings.
- Grease all gaskets (except for the cooling system) with Kluber Syntheso Glep (Part No. 000.043.204.68).
- Prepare intake manifold -2-
for installation.
- 2.1. Attach new tie-wrap for wire harness to bracket.
- 2.2. Fit new seals. Coat molded seals to cylinder head lightly with the specified lubricant.
- 2.3. Insert six M6 x 25 outer Torx screws (E10) -1- .
- Install intake manifold -1-
with new seals.
- 3.1. Remove covers from the intake ports.
- 3.2. Position intake manifold and insert six outer Torx screws in even sequence.
- 3.3. Tighten the screws.
→ Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ft. lb.).
- 3.4. Connect vacuum line to vacuum unit -2- .
- Fasten wire harness with new tie-wrap -1- .
- Fasten lateral bracket -1-
for wire harness with two M6 x 12 external Torx screws (E10) -2-

- 5.1. Tighten the screws.
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.4 ft. lb.).
- 5.1. Tighten the screws.
