Installing Intake-Air Distributor, Side 1-3

Always replace gaskets and O-rings.
- Grease all gaskets (except for the cooling system) with Kluber Syntheso Glep (Part No. 000.043.204.68).
Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
- Torx screws: (E..) for external Torx, (T..) for internal Torx.
- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)
- Prepare intake-air distributor for installation.
- 1.1. Clean sealing surfaces on the intake-air distributor and cylinder head.
- 1.2. Fit new molded seals on the intake-air distributor. Then grease them with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
- Prepare the fuel collection pipe for re-installation.
- 2.1. Fit fuel injectors -9- with new O-rings -11 and 12- . Grease O-rings lightly with VP 881 (Porsche Part No.: 000.043.207.35).
- 2.2. Fit fuel injectors into the fuel collection pipe according to the marking and secure them with spring clamps -10- .
- Install intake-air distributor, side 1-3.
Use a bar magnet to fit hidden screws and a 5-mm socket-wrench insert with a ball joint to tighten them.
- 3.1. Insert the intake-air distributor -1-
and fit and tighten screws -3-
.
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- 3.1. Insert the intake-air distributor -1-
and fit and tighten screws -3-
.
- Fit fuel collection pipe with fuel injectors for side 4-6.
- 4.1. Insert fuel injectors into the relevant openings on the intake-air distributor.
- 4.2. Secure the fuel collection pipe to the intake-air distributor with two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 12).
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- Fit the fuel line and wire harness.
- 5.1. Connect the fuel line. Fit and tighten union nut (a/f 19) -2-
and always counter while doing this (a/f 17).
→ Tightening torque: 30 Nm (22 ft. lb.)
- 5.2. Connect cable plugs for fuel injectors 1-3 -arrows- .
- 5.3. Fit cable rail -3- at the fuel collection pipe.
- 5.1. Connect the fuel line. Fit and tighten union nut (a/f 19) -2-
and always counter while doing this (a/f 17).
- Fit holder -1-
for cable plug for secondary-air pump.
- 6.1. Fit and tighten two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 12) -2- .
- Fit intake air line for side 1-3.
- 7.1. Position intake air line in the bracket -arrow- in the engine compartment.
- 7.2. Fit intake air line together with new O-ring and retaining bracket at the turbocharger flange and press it in.
- 7.3. Fit and tighten two screws -arrows-
and one M6 collar nut -1-
.
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- Install secondary-air pump -1-
.
→ 266519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SECONDARY-AIR PUMP .
- 8.1. Securing secondary-air pump to holder:
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- Secondary-air pump
- Connecting line on cylinder bank 4-6, top
- Fastening screws on holder
- Cable plug
- 8.1. Securing secondary-air pump to holder:
- Install oil-filter console -1-
with a new seal.
→ 173319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL-FILTER CONSOLE .
- 9.1. Securing oil-filter console to flange -3-
:
→ Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.)
- 9.2. Securing oil-filter console to holder -2-
:
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- 9.1. Securing oil-filter console to flange -3-

- Fit the oil filter.
- Fit lines on left of engine compartment.
- 11.1. Open tie-wrap and move lines into installation position.
- 11.2. Connect coolant breather hose -1- to coolant reservoir.
- 11.3. Connect carbon canister line -2- .
- 11.4. Connect the vacuum line -3- .
- Install fuel filter.
