Adjusting Hinge For Convertible-Top Compartment Lid

- Close and lock the convertible-top compartment lid.
- Adjust the hinge for the convertible-top compartment lid.
Information
- The side adjusting elements on the side panel must be set in such a way that there is slight preload on the adjusting elements when the convertible-top compartment lid is fully closed.
- The preload must be equal on the left and right.
Any excess force can be corrected by screwing the adjusting elements in and out.
- 2.1. Check the contours with respect to the side panels, rear cover and rear lid. → 5000IN DIAGRAM - BODY GAP DIMENSIONS
- 2.2. Lift up the convertible-top compartment lid and pull it fully to the rear.
- 2.3. Loosen the fastening nuts and fastening screws on the hinge and on the convertible-top compartment lid if necessary.
- 2.4. Adjust the contours by moving the convertible-top compartment lid and hinges.
- 2.5. Screw on fastening nuts on the convertible-top compartment lid. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- 2.6. Tighten fastening nut and fastening screw on the hinge. → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.) → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.)
- 2.7. Close the convertible top and check the contours.
