Installing Battery

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Make sure that the vent hose is in good condition. If the hose is deformed or damaged, replace it.

WARNING: Caustic fluids
  • Danger of chemical burns

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.

→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.

Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.

  1. Risk of caustic burns! Position the battery in the battery case below the stops, if at all possible without tilting it.
  2. Position the battery mount and tighten with the fastening screw -B-  . → M8: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)

  3. Insert the vent hose for the battery.
  4. Risk of short circuit! First connect the positive cable, then the negative cable to the battery. → M6: 5 Nm 
  5. Position the battery cover and secure using the two twist locks -A-  . → Installing Battery Cover
