Removing Front Lid

Information 

The wire harness must only be removed from the front lid up to the hinge.

1. Remove spray nozzles. → REMOVING SPRAY NOZZLE FOR HEADLIGHT CLEANING SYSTEM
2. Loosen grommet for wire harness for front lid. For details, see → REMOVING HOSE FOR WINDSCREEN WASHER SYSTEM
3. Pull wire harness and washer-fluid hoses out of the lid.
4. Remove front lid.
   1. 4.1. A second person should hold the front lid to prevent it from closing accidentally.
   2. 4.2. Loosen upper pneumatic-spring mounting for front lid. → Removing Front Pneumatic Spring 553119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT PNEUMATIC SPRING 
   3. 4.3. Screw off fastening nuts -1-  on the front lid.
   4. 4.4. Remove front lid.
