Removing Valve Lifters (Hydraulic Tappets)

Information

The hydraulic tappets are fitted as bucket tappets on the outlet side and as switching tappets for valve lift switchover on the intake side.
Switching tappets and bucket tappets cannot be interchanged.
The hydraulic tappets have a twist lock for the cylinder head.

Information

If the hydraulic tappets are to be re-used, they must be marked according to installation position using a water-resistant felt-tip pen and set aside in such a way that they cannot be mixed up!
If the hydraulic tappets are to be re-used, they must be installed at the same position!

Pull the hydraulic tappets out of the cylinder head one after the other > Hydraulic tappets and set them aside in such a way that they cannot be mixed up > Putting components down without mixing them up (cylinder bank 5-8 shown here as an example) .
