Installing Oil Separator

Information 

The seals on the oil separator must always be replaced following removal.

Information 

The tightening specifications for the basic engine are stored centrally.

> 1X00IN TECHNICAL VALUES

> 2X00IN TECHNICAL VALUES

or

> 1001IN TIGHTENING TORQUES, TIGHTENING SEQUENCES AND ASSEMBLY OVERVIEWS .

Tightening torques and assembly instructions for other assemblies (e.g. chassis, electrics, transmission or body) or for peripheral engine equipment can be found in the corresponding documents.

  1. Place oil separator -3-  evenly and carefully onto the valve cover -5-  using both hands. Press connection piece of oil separator into the bore on the valve cover.

  2. Replace seals -6-  .
  3. Fit and tighten four fastening screws -4-  on the oil separator -3-  .

  4. Fit line connections -1 and 2-  to the connection piece on the oil separator -3-  . Check sealing rings on lines and replace if necessary.

  5. If screw elements are damaged, tap them out of the oil separator and tap in new elements using a plastic hammer.
