Drive links

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2005 Porsche 911, 2004 Porsche 911, 2003 Porsche 911, 2002 Porsche 911, and 2001 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Drive links of the CDR23 can be activated with this menu item. This allows the function of the drive links to be assessed very quickly using the Porsche System Tester II 9588.

The following drive links can be activated:

NOTE: The activated drive link is automatically switched off after approximately 20 seconds.
DRIVE LINKS - CDR23

Menu item Function
  • All On display test
You can check the function of the CDR23 display segments using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Drive links in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select All On display test in the CDR23 drive links function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Press the "F8" key to start the test.
  • All segments of the CDR23 display are activated and can be checked for operation.
  • Loudspeaker test
You can check the function of the loudspeakers connected to the CDR23 using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Drive links in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Loudspeaker test in the CDR23 drive links function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Press the "F8" key to start the test.
  • Ring break diagnosis
You can check the function of the diagnosis/wake-up line of the CDR23 using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Drive links in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Ring break diagnosis in the CDR23 drive links function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Press the "F8" key to start the test.
  • The result of the automatic test is displayed on the CDR23 display.
  • Ring break line diagnosis
You can check the function of the CDR23 display segments using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Drive links in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select All On display test in the CDR23 drive links function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Press the "F8" key to start the test.
  • All segments of the CDR23 display are activated and can be checked for operation.
  • Set default values
You can check the function of the CDR23 display segments using this menu item.

  • Select Set default values in the CDR23 drive links function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Press the "F8" key to start the test.
