CDR23 control module function: Coding

Under the menu item Modify coding, the PCM2 codes can be coded on a vehicle and country-specific basis.

PCM2 CODING - VEHICLE & COUNTRY

Menu item Function
  • Vehicle type vehicle coding
The CDR23 can be coded in accordance with the vehicle type using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control module menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Coding in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Vehicle type vehicle coding in the Coding menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select 911 (996) in the menu and code with the "F8" key.
  • Vehicle version vehicle coding
The CDR23 can be coded in accordance with the vehicle version using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control module menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Coding in the PCM2 GW function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Vehicle version vehicle coding in the Coding menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select 911 (996)  in the menu and code with the "F8" key.
  • Right/left-hand drive vehicle coding:
The CDR23 can be coded in accordance with the vehicle model using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Coding in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Right/left-hand drive vehicle coding  in the 911 (996) CDR23 coding function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Right/left-hand drive  from the menu item that is displayed and code it with the "F8" key.

The following selection is available:
  • Right-hand drive
  • Left-hand drive
  • Air conditioning with/without
You can code the relevant vehicle version with or without air conditioning using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Coding in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Air conditioning with/without  in the 911 (996) CDR23 coding function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select with or without in the menu corresponding to the vehicle equipment and code with the "F8" key.
  • GAL (noise-dependent loudspeaker boost - NLB)
You can code the LNB as required using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Coding in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select GAL (LNB)  in the 911 (996) CDR23 coding function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Value corresponding to the desired volume and code with the "F8" key.
  • Country coding
You can code the country code using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Coding in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Country coding in the CDR23 coding function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select RoW or USA  and code with the "F8" key.
  • PCM2 code
It is possible to code the PCM2 code under this menu item after replacing the CDR23.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Coding in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 code in the CDR23 coding function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Take the PCM2 code from IPAS, enter it using the arrow keys and code it with the "F8" key.
  • Production mode
You can code the production mode using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select CDR23 in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Coding in the 911 (996) CDR23 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Production mode in the 911 (996) CDR23 coding function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select Production mode ON/OFF in the CDR23 coding function selection and confirm with the "F8" key.
  • Tuner parameters
You can code the tuner parameters using this menu item.
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
  • Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
  • Select PCM in the Control modules menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.

  • Traffic broadcast loudspeaker boost
You can code the traffic broadcast loudspeaker boost using this menu item.
