8013 External BOSE amplifier: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING (8013 EXTERNAL BOSE AMPLIFIER)

1	Check wiring harness and rear left loudspeaker	Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition. Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key. Select PCM in the Control units menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key. Select External BOSE amplifier in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key. Select Fault memory in the 911 (996) external BOSE amplifier function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key. Read out fault memory. Erase fault memory. Remove ignition key and switch on ignition again. Read out fault memory. Extract ambient data, press the "FORWORD" key.	-> End	Fault code is still displayed Step 2
2	Check the rear left and right wiring harness and loudspeakers	Switch off ignition. Pull off plug A on the amplifier. Check resistance on plug A, pins 23 and 28.	= 5 Step 6	Step 3
3	Check the wiring harness to the rear left and right loudspeakers	Pull off the plugs on the loudspeakers. Check the resistance in the wire between pin 23 on plug A of the amplifier and pin 3 of the plug for the rear left and right loudspeakers.	< 5 Step 4	Open circuit in the wire/short circuit to ground. Repair wiring harness -> End
4	Check the wiring harness to the rear left and right loudspeakers	Check the resistance in the wire between pin 28 on plug A of the amplifier and pin 4 of the plug for the rear left and right loudspeakers.	< 5 Step 5	Open circuit in the wire/short circuit to ground. Repair wiring harness -> End
5	Replace the rear left and right loudspeakers		-> End	Step 6
6	Replace amplifier		-> End
