Possible cause of fault
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2005 Porsche 911, 2004 Porsche 911, 2003 Porsche 911, 2002 Porsche 911, and 2001 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Short circuit between the two CAN comfort leads (CAN-high and CAN-low)
- Short circuit between CAN comfort (high) (drive) and ground
- Short circuit between CAN comfort (low) (drive) and voltage
- Faulty control module connected to CAN drive busNOTE:
- CAN comfort is connected to the following control modules:
- CDR23 as of model year 2003
- Instrument cluster
- Air-conditioning system control module
- Radio
NOTE: The plug connections of control modules connected to the CAN drive bus are disconnected during troubleshooting. This causes additional CAN-related fault codes, for example, 9110 DME control module to be stored in the fault memory of the instrument cluster. These fault codes should be ignored initially and must be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.
