800A CDR23: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING (800A CDR23)

1	Read out CDR23 fault memory	Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition. Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key. Select CDR23 in the Control units menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key. Start Fault memory in the menu using the "FORWORD" key. Read out fault memory. Erase fault memory. Remove ignition key and switch on ignition again. Read out fault memory.	-> End	Fault code is still displayed Step 2
2	Check CAN comfort (high) for open circuit	Switch off ignition. Pull off plug E on CDR23 control module Pull off plug B on the air-conditioning system control module. Pull off plug A on the instrument cluster control module. Measure specific resistance between pin 1 of plug E on the PCM2 control module and pin 1 of plug B on the air-conditioning control module.	< 0.5 Step 3	Repair open circuit in wiring harness -> End
3	Check CAN Comfort (low) for open circuit	Measure specific resistance between pin 2 of plug E on the PCM2 control module and pin 2 of plug B on the air-conditioning control module.	< 5 Step 4	Repair open circuit wiring harness -> End
4	Replace PCM2		-> End
