Removing Drive Belt

  1. Mark the running direction of the drive belt (with a paint marker, for example) if you intend to reuse it.

    Information 

    • Only remove the power-steering pump wheel when the drive belt is completely relieved. 
  2. Unscrew three external Torx screws (M8 x 12) -arrows-  on the hydraulic pump pulley by about half a turn.

    Information 

    • The drive belt can be cut if it needs to be replaced. 
  3. Slacken the drive belt at the tensioning roller by turning it clockwise -arrow-  .

  4. Remove the drive belt at the deflection roller under the generator.
  5. Allow the belt tensioner to slide back to its initial position.
  6. Unscrew three external Torx screws (M8 x 12) on the pulley and remove the pulley -arrow-  .

  7. Guide the drive belt past the engine carrier and out of the engine compartment.
  8. Check the drive belt and pulleys for particles of dirt.
