Removing Vibration Damper

  1. Position vibration damper -2-  for removal.
    1. 1.1. Use special tool turning device 9773 -1-  to position the vibration damper (turn it clockwise) until a staking bore in the vibration damper is flush with the bore on the crankcase.
    2. 1.2. Stake the vibration damper using one of the locating pins 9595/1 -3-  .
    3. 1.3. Loosen six external Torx screws (E12) M8 x 1 x 25 (fine thread) only slightly.

  2. Slacken the drive belt.

    → 137819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE BELT - TURBO .

  3. Remove vibration damper.
    1. 3.1. Unscrew six external Torx screws (E12) M8 x 1 x 25 (fine thread) and remove the vibration damper.
    2. 3.2. Check dowel pin and vibration damper for damage (e.g. cracks, deformation) and replace components if necessary.
    3. 3.3. Replace screws.
