Installing Flywheel
WARNING:
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Clean flywheel and pressure plate with solvent naphtha. Remove protective wax on new parts with acetone or solvent naphtha.
- 1.1. Replace guide joint for transmission shaft at flywheel.
NOTE: Removing and installing flywheel- Leaks
- Risk of damage to the flywheel and adjacent components
→ Be very careful during removal and installation.
→ Get another person to help because of the weight.
- Correctly position flywheel together with guide joint at crankshaft flange (dowel pin -arrow- ) and fit using the nine internal-serration screws (M10 x 23).
- Screw in the screws evenly and tighten to the specified torque in the correct tightening sequence -1 to 9-
. Counter at the crankshaft pulley with special tool holding wrench 9548
.
→ Tightening torque: 90 Nm (67 ftlb.)
