Installing Inner Side Section (Lower Part)
NOTE:
Non-observance of setting time for adhesive
- Risk of damage to side panel
→ Weld in the new part within 30 minutes.
- Fitting front inner side section to the body
- 1.1. Fit the front inner side section to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps.
- Welding in front inner side section
- 2.1. Resistance spot-weld the front inner side section in area -A- .
- Welding in front inner side section
- 3.1. Resistance spot-weld the front inner side section in areas -A- and -B- .
- Welding in front inner side section
- 4.1. Apply a full weld to the front inner side section in area -A- using inert gas.
- Fitting center inner side section to the body
- 5.1. Fit the center inner side section to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps.
- Welding in center inner side section
- 6.1. Resistance spot-weld the center inner side section in areas -A- and -B- .
- Welding in center inner side section
- 7.1. Plug-weld the center inner side section in area -A- using inert gas.
- Applying adhesive
- 8.1. Secure the joint between the rear wall and the inside of the side section in area -A- with a triangular bead of adhesive (Teromix-6700) measuring -Mas X= ca. 8 mm- . The light frame must lie flush with the inside of the side section.
- Fitting rear inner side section to the body
- 9.1. Fit the rear inner side section to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps.
- Welding in rear inner side section
- 10.1. Resistance spot-weld the top inner side section in areas -A- and -B- .
- Welding in center inner side section
- 11.1. Plug-weld the rear inner side section in areas -A- and -B- using inert gas.
- Securing center inner side section
- 12.1. Bend up sheetmetal bracket -arrow A- .
- Fitting the front inner side section to the body
- 13.1. Fit the front inner side section to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps.
- Welding in front inner side section
- 14.1. Resistance spot-weld the front inner side section in areas -A, B, C, D- .
- Welding in front inner side section
- 15.1. Plug-weld the front inner side section in area -A- using inert gas.
- Install center side member. → 514855 REPLACING CENTRE SIDE MEMBER - section on "Installing"
- Install outer rear wheel housing. → 536855 REPLACING REAR WHEEL HOUSING - section on "Installing"
WARNING:
Risk of damage if the processing time is not observed!
- The quality of the joint will be affected if the adhesive processing time is not observed.
→ The new part must be welded within 30 minutes in the area of the adhesive, otherwise the adhesion of the adhesive will be affected.
- Fitting front inner side section to the body
- 1.1. Fit the front inner side section to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps.
- Welding in front inner side section
- 2.1. Resistance spot-weld the front inner side section in area -A- .
- Welding in front inner side section
- 3.1. Resistance spot-weld the front inner side section in areas -A- and -B- .
- Welding in front inner side section
- 4.1. Apply a full weld to the front inner side section in area -A- using inert gas.
- Fitting center inner side section to the body
- 5.1. Fit the center inner side section to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps.
- Welding in center inner side section
- 6.1. Resistance spot-weld the center inner side section in areas -A- and -B- .
- Welding in center inner side section
- 7.1. Plug-weld the center inner side section in area -A- using inert gas.
- Applying adhesive
- 8.1. Secure the joint between the rear wall and the inside of the side section in area -A- with a triangular bead of adhesive (Teromix-6700) measuring -dimension X= approx. 8 mm- . The light frame must lie flush with the inside of the side section.

- 9.1. Fit the rear inner side section to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps.
- Welding in rear inner side section
- 10.1. Resistance spot-weld the top inner side section in areas -A- and -B- .
- Welding in center inner side section
- 11.1. Plug-weld the rear inner side section in areas -A- and -B- using inert gas.
- Securing center inner side section
- 12.1. Bend up sheetmetal bracket -Arrow A- .
- Fitting the front inner side section to the body
- 13.1. Fit the front inner side section to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps.
- Welding in front inner side section
- 14.1. Resistance spot-weld the front inner side section in areas -A, B, C, D- .
- Welding in front inner side section
- 15.1. Plug-weld the front inner side section in area -A- using inert gas.
