Remove side reinforcement (frame for light). → 531755 REPLACING SIDE REINFORCEMENT (FRAME FOR LIGHT) - section on "Removing"
Remove rear closing panel. → 530555 REPLACING REAR CLOSING PANEL - section on "Removing"
Separating and milling off welded joints
1. 3.1. Separate inert-gas welded seam in area -A- using a parting grinder.
2. 3.2. Mill off spotwelds in areas -B- and -C- using a spotweld cutter (2 plate thicknesses).

Milling off spotwelds
1. 4.1. Mill off spotwelds in areas -A, B, C, D- using a spotweld cutter.

WARNING:
Possible separation points on inner side member
- Danger of material damage and injury
→ The possible separation points on the inner side member are 30 mm in front of the tailored blank (laser weld) starting from the rear of the vehicle in the direction of travel.
Determining the cut
1. 5.1. Determine possible cut on the inner rear side member at dimension -X= 30 mm- in front of the tailored blank (laser weld) -1- . Mark the cut.

Cutting through the inner rear side member
1. 6.1. Cut through the inner rear side member at the marked separation point -A- using the oscillating body saw. Do not damage internal components when doing this.
