Installing Oil Pan

NOTE: Oil pump suction line blocked
  • Risk of engine damage

→ The bead of sealing compound must not be thicker than → Diameter: 3 mm. 

NOTE: Incorrect handling of oil pan
  • Risk of damage to transmission housing

→ Oil pan and transmission must be perfectly aligned.

→ Press oil pan firmly against the transmission when fitting it on the crankcase.

  1. Apply an all-round bead of sealant to the cleaned and degreased oil pan. Apply the bead to the inside of the screw holes - arrows -  .

  2. Press oil pan simultaneously  against the transmission  and the crankcase  and tighten the fastening screws by hand.
    1. 2.1. Then tighten the fastening screws in the sequence shown - i.e. from 1 to 25 -  . → Tightening torque: 12 Nm (9 ft lbs.) 
    2. 2.2. Tighten fastening screws between transmission and oil pan. For details of tightening torque, see: → Mounting Transmission
