Removing potentiometer for convertible-top interrogation

Opening convertible top
Removing rear left side-panel lining and loosen hydraulic cylinder

Installing potentiometer
Undo the fastening screws -arrows- and remove the potentiometer.

Loosening the line routing
Unclip the potentiometer wires downwards and disconnect the electrical plug connection (disconnection point X 26).
Exposing wires
Carefully remove insulating tape from the potentiometer to the plug connection without damaging any other wires. Expose the potentiometer wires (green, yellow and red).
Unlocking secondary locking of the plug connection
Unlock both sides by inserting a small screwdriver and shift in the direction of the arrow. The figure -inset- shows the secondary locking unlocked.

Unlocking the old contacts of the potentiometer wires, and remove.
Unlocking tool to unlock the old contacts in the plug connection, refer to Fig 3. See MATERIALS AND TOOLS .

Unlock the old contacts with the unlocking tool, and remove.
