Speed sensor, rear left: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS TROUBLESHOOTING - FAULT CODE 4216, AS OF MY 2002

Work instruction			Display OK	If not OK
1	Visual inspection	Check wheel-bearing play Examine speed sensor and leads at the rear left for external damage Check speed sensor plug for corrosion	Step 2	Repair wheel bearing Repair speed sensor and lead Repair speed sensor plug -> End
2	Mechanical function	Check speed sensor and pulse ring at the rear left for soiling and external damage	Step 3	Clean pulse ring and replace, if necessary -> End
3	Replace rear left speed sensor		-> End	If the same fault occurs again after replacing the speed sensor properly Step 4
4	Replace ABS control unit		-> End
