Intake Manifold Removal

    CAUTION: Never attempt to remove the intake manifold from a hot engine, allow the engine to cool to ambient temperature. The intake manifold can be damaged if it is removed when the engine is hot.
  1. Disconnect the bypass valve solenoid hoses.
  2. Remove the bypass valve solenoid bolts.
  3. Remove the bypass valve solenoid with hoses.

  4. Remove the high pressure fuel pump cover bolts.
  5. Remove the high pressure fuel pump cover.
  6. Remove the high pressure fuel pump noise insulator.

    WARNING: Fuel that flows out at high pressure can cause serious injury to the skin and eyes. ALWAYS depressurize the fuel system before removing components that are under high fuel pressure.
  7. Loosen and disconnect the fuel feed line tube nut.
  8. Remove the fuel feed line bolts.
  9. Remove the fuel feed line.
  10. Inspect the fuel feed line nut for damaged threads.
  11. Inspect the fuel feed line sealing bail for damage or debris.
  12. Replace the fuel feed line if any damage is found.

  13. Remove the throttle body bolts.
  14. Remove the throttle body.

  15. Remove the vacuum pump bolts.
  16. Remove the vacuum pump.

  17. Remove the vacuum pump bracket bolt and nuts.
  18. Remove the vacuum pump bracket.

  19. Disconnect the rear knock sensor from the intake manifold brace.
  20. Remove the intake manifold brace bolt.
  21. Remove the intake manifold brace.

  22. Remove the intake manifold bolts and nuts.
  23. Remove the intake manifold.
  24. Remove the intake manifold gasket.
