Compressor Replacement (LY7)

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove fascia support bracket. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Support Replacement .
  3. Remove upper radiator support. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
  4. Remove A/C hose assembly for compressor. Refer to Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement (LNJ)  or Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement (LY7) .
  5. Remove drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
1 A/C Compressor Bolts (Qty 4).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  50 N.m (37 lb ft)


Tip:  Mandatory torque sequence required upon installation. Refer to circled bolt sequence in graphic.
2 A/C Compressor.
Tip: 
  1. Disconnect all electrical connections.
  2. Lift and support radiator to aid in compressor removal.
  3. Remove A/C compressor through opening between cradle and radiator.
