Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) .
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
  3. Set the parking brake.
  4. Shift the vehicle into neutral, if equipped with automatic transmission.

    IMPORTANT: The I/P center trim bezel is painted and can be damaged. Pull on the bottom of the bezel to disengage the lower clips first or damage to the HVAC control module could occur.
  5. Remove the I/P center trim bezel.
  6. Remove the hazard switch. Refer to Hazard Warning Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
