Installation Procedure

- Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the right side lower engine splash shield.
- Properly route and install the accessory drive belt onto the drive pulleys.
- Use a wrench and rotate the belt tensioner clockwise.
- With pressure applied to the wrench, install the accessory drive belt.
- With the accessory drive belt installed properly, release the belt tensioner.
- Install the right side lower engine splash shield.NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten: Tighten the battery cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
