Oil Pan: Installation

  1. Clean gasket surfaces and bolt holes. Install a NEW gasket. Apply GM Sealant (12345739) to notches at rear main bearing cap. Install oil pan. Tighten oil pan nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Tighten 2 rear oil pan bolts to specification. Tighten remaining oil pan bolts to specification. To complete installation, reverse removal procedures. Fill and bleed the cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING .
