Test 7A - Loss Of Ignition Run Only
NOTE:
Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION TEST
after all repairs. Each time a connector is disconnected, inspect it to ensure it is in good condition. Always focus on circuit being tested. Dirt, water and corrosion, are most common problems in connectors. Due to manufacturer changes in wire colors, use terminal identification whenever possible.
- Remove and inspect junction block fuse No. 16. If fuse is not good, go to step 3). If fuse is good, use a voltmeter to measure ignition switch output circuit at fuse No. 16. If voltage is less than 10.0 volts, repair open ignition switch output circuit. If voltage is more than 10.0 volts, go to next step.
- Reinstall fuse No. 16. Disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes before proceeding. Disconnect ACM 13-pin connector. Turn ignition on, then reconnect battery. Using a voltmeter, check voltage at ACM 13-pin connector terminal No. 2 (White wire). If voltage is more than 10.0 volts, replace ACM. If voltage is less than 10.0 volts, repair open in White wire (ignition switch output circuit).
- Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, measure fused ignition switch output run circuit at junction block fuse No. 16. If resistance is more than 5.0 ohms, replace fuse. If resistance is less than 5.0 ohms, disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes before proceeding. Go to next step.
- Disconnect ACM 13-pin connector. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance at ACM 13-pin connector terminal No. 2 (White wire). If resistance is less than 5.0 ohms, repair short to ground in White wire (fused ignition switch output circuit) and replace fuse No. 16. If resistance is less than 5.0 ohms, replace ACM and fuse No. 16.
