Reassembly & Installation

  1. Install and lubricate outer rotor in pump housing with large chamfered edge toward pump housing. Lubricate inner rotor shaft and drive gear. Install inner rotor and drive gear. Install pump cover. Tighten bolts to specification. Install pressure relief valve in pump housing. Ensure relief valve slides freely in the bore. Install spring, cup and pin.
  2. To install, apply Loctite Sealer (515) to oil pump housing-to-cylinder block surface. Align slot in oil pump drive gear. Install oil pump. Rotate pump back and forth to ensure proper seating while tightening retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  at end of article.
  3. Install new "O" ring on pick-up tube. To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure.
