Installation Procedure

  1. Align the I/P trim pad to the vehicle.
  2. Reposition the I/P wiring harness.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the I/P trim pad bolts near the windshield.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  4. Install the I/P trim pad bolts to the cluster pocket.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  5. Install the passenger side I/P trim pad bolts to the hinge pillar.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  6. Install the driver side I/P trim pad bolts to the hinge pillar.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  7. Install the fuse block.
  8. Install the I/P compartment lamp switch. Refer to IP Compartment Lamp Switch Replacement .
  9. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - IP .
  10. Install the air temperature sensor. Refer to INSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR in HVAC Systems - Automatic.
  11. Install the switch bank. Refer to IP Multifunction Switch Assembly Replacement .
  12. Install the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition Switch Replacement  in Steering Wheel and Column.
  13. Install the hazard warning and cruise control switch. Refer to Hazard Warning and Cruise Control Switch Replacement .

  14. Install the I/P lighter. Refer to Cigar Lighter Replacement - IP .
  15. Install the HVAC control module. Refer to HVAC CONTROL ASSEMBLY in HVAC Systems - Automatic or to HVAC MODULE ASSEMBLY in HVAC Systems - Manual.
  16. Install the radio. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT .
  17. Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - IP Accessory .
  18. Install the I/P cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement .
  19. Install the I/P cluster trim plate. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - IP Cluster .
  20. Install the hood release handle. Refer to HOOD LATCH RELEASE HANDLE REPLACEMENT .
  21. Install the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT .
  22. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
  23. Install the data link connector.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  24. Install the steering column filler. Refer to Ignition Switch Replacement .
  25. Install the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor .
  26. Install the I/P upper trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (IP) Upper .
  27. Install the windshield side upper garnish moldings. Refer to GARNISH MOLDING REPLACEMENT - WINDSHIELD PILLAR .
  28. Install the I/P insulators. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right  and to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left .
  29. Install the front carpet retainers. Refer to CARPET RETAINER REPLACEMENT - FRONT .
  30. Install the right and the left I/P access hole covers. Refer to Instrument Panel (IP) Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
  31. Enable SIR system. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM in SIR.
  32. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE .
