Audible Warnings System Check

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). If scan tool turns on, go to next step. If scan tool does not come on, go to SCAN TOOL INOPERATIVE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article.
  2. Use scan tool to attempt to communicate with BCM. If scan tool is able to communicate with BCM, go to next step. If scan tool is not able to communicate with BCM, go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 SERIAL DATA LINE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article.
  3. Select BCM, then DISPLAY DTCS function on scan tool. If any DTCs are displayed, go to next step. If no DTCs are displayed, go to AUDIBLE WARNINGS CIRCUIT CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  4. If scan tool displays any DTCs that begin with the letter "U", go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 SERIAL DATA LINE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article. If scan tool does not display any DTCs that begin with the letter "U", go to next step.
  5. If scan tool displays DTC B1000, go to DTC B1000: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) MALFUNCTION  . If DTC B1000 is not displayed, go to next step.
  6. If scan tool displays DTC B2961, go to DTC B2961: KEY IN IGNITION CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION  . If scan tool does not display DTC B2961, go to AUDIBLE WARNINGS CIRCUIT CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
