Diagnostic System Check

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector(DLC). Using scan tool, read Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) information. If comminucation does not exist, go to next step. If comminucation exists, go to step  3 .
  2. Check all IPC power and ground wiring and connectors. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INOPERATIVE  under SYMPTOM TESTS.
  3. Check for DTCs. If no DTCs exist, go to next step. If DTCs exist, see IPC DTC DEFINITIONS  table.
  4. Using scan tool in WOW mode, check operation of IPC gauges and indicators. If all IPC gauges and indicators are okay, check is complete. If any IPC gauges or indicators do not operate properly, go to next step.
  5. Replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
