Parking Brake Front Cable: Installation

  1. Place the cable in position.
  2. Install the cable on the support bracket using the Parking Brake Cable Release Tool (J 37043).
  3. Install the cable on the actuator lever.
  4. Install the cable on the mounting bracket.
  5. Tighten the nut on the equalizer in order to remove the slack in the cable.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Adjust the parking brake. Refer to PARKING/EMERGENCY BRAKE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
