Parking Brake Actuator: Installation

  1. Install parking brake shoes and lining.
  2. Install rear wheel hub. See Figure.
  3. Ensure parking brake actuator lever is in proper position. See Fig 1.

  4. Install parking brake actuator. See Figure.
  5. Mount parking brake bracket to support plate and thread in bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Connect parking brake return spring. See Figure.
  7. Attach parking brake cable to mounting bracket. See Figure.
  8. Connect parking brake cable to actuator. See Figure.
  9. Tighten nut on equalizer to remove slack in cable.
  10. Install brake rotors. See BRAKE ROTORS .
  11. Install rear caliper brackets. See BRAKE CALIPER BRACKETS .
  12. Install rear brake calipers. See BRAKE CALIPERS .
  13. Install wheels. Lower vehicle.
  14. Check function of parking brake and adjust if necessary. See PARKING BRAKE SHOE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
