With CRT/DID

  1. Enter diagnostics. See ENTERING IPC SELF-DIAGNOSTICS  under ON-VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Select IPC INPUT II10, and operate trip reset button. With trip button released, display should indicate HI. With trip button depressed, display should indicate LO. If IPC INPUT II10 displays HI with trip reset button depressed, go to step 3). If IPC INPUT II10 displays LO with trip reset button released, go to next step.
  2. Remove right switch assembly. If display indicates HI, replace right switch assembly. If display indicates LO, check right switch assembly connector Light Green wire for a short to ground. If wire is okay, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. If IPC INPUT II10 displays HI with trip reset switch depressed, remove right switch assembly. Connect a fused jumper wire between terminals No. 8 (Light Green wire) and 7 (Black/White wire) of right switch assembly connector.
  4. If display indicates LO, check right switch assembly connector terminals. If terminals are okay, replace right switch assembly. If display indicates HI, connect fused jumper wire between terminal No. 8 (Light Green wire) of right switch assembly connector and ground.
  5. If display now indicates LO, repair Black/White wire for an open. If display indicates HI, remove IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect an ohmmeter between IPC connector terminal C14 (Light Green wire) and right switch assembly connector terminal No. 8 (Light Green wire).
  6. If zero ohms are present, check terminal contact. If terminal contact is okay, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If high resistance is present, check Light Green wire for an open circuit.
