With CRT/DID
- Enter diagnostics. See ENTERING IPC SELF-DIAGNOSTICS under ON-VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Select IPC INPUT II07, and operate ODO/TRIP button. With button released, display should indicate HI. With button depressed, display should indicate LO. If display indicates LO with button released, go to next step. If display indicates HI with button depressed, go to step 3).
- Remove right switch assembly. If display indicates HI, replace right switch assembly. If display indicates LO, check Light Green wire for a short to ground. If wire is okay, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Remove right switch assembly. Connect a fused jumper wire between terminals No. 2 (Light Green wire) and No. 7 (Black/White wire) of right switch assembly connector.
- If display indicates LO, check right switch assembly connector terminals. If terminals are okay, replace right switch assembly. If display indicates HI, connect a fused jumper wire between terminal No. 2 (Light Green wire) of right switch assembly connector and ground.
- If display reads LO, check Black/White wire for an open. If display reads HI, remove IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect an ohmmeter between IPC connector terminal D12 (Light Green wire) and right switch assembly connector terminal No. 2 (Light Green wire).
- If zero ohms are present, check terminal contact. If terminal contact is okay, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If high resistance is present, check Light Green wire for an open circuit.
