Removal and Installation: Removal

- Remove the air cleaner assembly, front air duct, and air duct hose and resonator tube assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove the battery. Refer to Removal and Installation (Battery) .
- Remove the battery tray assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation (Battery Tray) .
- Remove the transmission control module (TCM). Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove the engine control module (ECM). Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect the harness from the ECM and TCM bracket, then remove the ECM and TCM bracket.
- Remove the coolant from the radiator. Refer to Changing Engine Coolant .
- Remove the upper radiator hose.
- Remove the inlet heater pipe (lower)
- Remove the fan shroud and motor assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield (bank 2). Refer to Removal and Installation (bank 2) .
- Support the engine (1) and transaxle (2) using a suitable jack (A) as shown, below.CAUTION:
- Position a suitable jack under the engine and transaxle assembly as shown, above.
- Do not damage the front exhaust tube or transaxle oil pan with the jack.
- Disconnect the air/fuel ratio sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the engine mount insulator (front) vacuum hose.
- Remove the engine mount insulator (front) nut (A).
- Loosen the engine mount bracket (front) bolts in the reverse order shown.

- Remove the engine mount bracket (front).
- Remove the engine mount insulator (front) bolts in the reverse order as shown, below.
