Removal and Installation (Three Way Catalyst): Removal

  1. Remove the front wheels and tires using power tool. Refer to Adjustment .
  2. Remove mudguard and front fender protector. Refer to Removal and Installation and Removal and Installation .
  3. Disconnect the harness connector from the air fuel ratio sensor 1.
  4. Remove the front exhaust tube. Refer to Exploded View .
  5. Remove the exhaust manifold cover bolts and reposition the exhaust manifold covers.
  6. Remove lower dash panel heat shield (if necessary).
  7. Remove oil level gauge and tube (if necessary).
  8. Remove transmission oil level gauge and tube (if necessary).
  9. Remove the three way catalyst nuts and remove the three way catalyst.
  10. Remove the air fuel ratio sensor 1 using Tool (if necessary).

    Tool number

    : (J-44626)
    CAUTION:
    • Be careful not to damage air fuel ratio sensor 1.
    • Discard any air fuel ratio sensor 1 which has been dropped from a height of more than 0.5 m (19.7 in) onto a hard surface such as a concrete floor; replace with a new sensor.
