Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Drain brake fluid. Refer to Drain and Refill .
  2. Remove air cleaner assembly and air ducts. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Disconnect harness connector from brake fluid level switch.
  4. Remove brake fluid level switch.
  5. Separate brake pipes from master cylinder using a flare nut wrench.
    CAUTION: Do not scratch the flare nut or the brake pipe.
  6. Remove master cylinder nuts.
  7. Remove master cylinder.
    CAUTION: Do not depress the brake pedal after the master cylinder assembly is removed.
  8. Remove and discard O-ring from the master cylinder.
    CAUTION: Do not reuse O-ring.
