Removal and Installation: Installation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Nissan Titan XD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
To avoid possible engine and system damage or performance issues:
- Brush away all dirt and debris from the area prior to opening any fuel, air intake, exhaust, cooling, aftertreatment or other engine system.
- To avoid contamination, any open engine system ports must be closed immediately with clean care caps or an appropriate covering.
- Do not allow any debris to fall into the engine.
- Do not allow any chemical cleaners to enter the engine or any open systems during the cleaning process.
- Install the fuel rail supply lines (1) on the engine. Tighten nuts (A) and (B) hand-tight at each end of line.CAUTION: Do not reuse fuel rail supply lines [high-pressure) (1)]NOTE: Make sure that the fuel line is not rubbing on any other components.
- Hand-tighten bolts (A) and (B) that secures the fuel rail supply lines (1) to the cylinder head (bank 1) and rocker cover (bank 1).
- Tighten the fuel rail supply line (1) nuts (B), then tighten fuel rail supply line nuts (A).CAUTION: To avoid possible leaks, fuel system component damage or performance issues, always use the correct components, assemble in the correct order and tighten fuel system components to the specified torque.NOTE: When tightening high-pressure fuel lines, make sure there is no interference between the wrench and adjacent nuts.
Supply line nuts (A)
: 33 N.m (3.4 kg-m, 24 ft-lb)
Supply line nuts (B)
: 37 N.m (3.8 kg-m, 27 ft-lb)
- Tighten the bolts (A) and (B) that secure the fuel rail supply line to the cylinder head (bank 1) and rocker cover (bank 1).
Bolts (A) and (B)
: 7.4 N.m (0.75 kg-m, 65 in-lb)
- Install the fuel rail-to-fuel rail supply line (high pressure). Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Install the air inlet connection. Refer to Exploded View .
- Installation of the remaining components is in the reverse order of removal.
- Prime the fuel system. Refer to Priming
.NOTE: It is not necessary to vent air from the high-pressure fuel system before starting the engine. Turning the keyswitch ON/cranking the engine primes the fuel system.
- Run CONSULT High-Pressure Fuel System Leak Test. Refer to High-Pressure Fuel System Leak Test .
- Operate the engine and check for leaks.
- Prime the fuel system. Refer to Priming
.
