Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR CURRENT DTC 
    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Connect CONSULT and check for "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.
    3. Check for DTC P22A2-00 being current on the CONSULT screen.

    Is applicable DTC detected?

    YES

    GO TO 2 .

    NO

    Refer to Intermittent Incident .

  2. VERIFY PROPER INSTALLATION OF THE OUTLET NOX SENSOR 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Remove and verify proper installation of the after treatment outlet NOx sensor.
    3. Verify the correct after treatment outlet NOx sensor is installed.

    Is the correct outlet NOx sensor properly installed?

    YES

    GO TO 3 .

    NO

    Properly install the correct outlet NOx sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation .

  3. CHECK FOR PRIORITY DTC 
    1. Reinstall the after treatment outlet NOx sensor.
    2. Start the engine and let it idle for 1 minute.
    3. Using CONSULT, check for "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.

    Is P2204-00 DTC current?

    YES

    NO

    • The removal and installation of the connector corrected the issue.
    • GO TO 4 .
  4. ERASE CURRENT DTC 
    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Using CONSULT erase "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.
    3. Operate the engine within the "Conditions for setting the DTC".
    4. Check for "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.

    Is P22A2-00 DTC current?

    YES

    Return to Diagnosis Procedure. Refer to DTC Description .

    NO

    Repair complete.
