Diagnosis Procedure

1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Connect CONSULT and check "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.
3. Check for DTC P229F-00 being current on the CONSULT screen.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES

GO TO 2 .

NO

GO TO 5 .

1. Using CONSULT, check for other "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.
2. Check if any of the following DTCs are present:
   • U029E-00
   • P220B-00
   • P229E-00
   • P22A7-00

Is applicable DTC current?

YES

Refer to DTC Index .

NO

GO TO 3 .

1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Verify proper installation of the after treatment outlet NOx sensor.
3. Verify the correct after treatment outlet NOx sensor is installed.

Is the correct outlet NOx sensor properly installed?

YES

GO TO 4 .

NO

Properly install the correct outlet NOx sensor.

1. Disconnect the after treatment diesel exhaust fluid decomposition tube.
2. Check for diesel exhaust fluid crystallization.
3. Inspect the decomposition tube for crystallization.

Is there crystallization buildup in the decomposition tube?

YES

• Remove the crystallization buildup.
• GO TO 5 .

NO

• A damaged after treatment outlet NOx sensor has been detected. Replace the after treatment outlet NOx sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation .
• GO TO 5 .

1. Connect all harness connectors.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Using CONSULT, erase "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.
4. Operate the engine within the "Conditions for setting the DTC".
5. Using CONSULT, check for "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.

Is P229F-00 DTC current?

YES

Return to Diagnosis Procedure. Refer to DTC Description .

NO

Repair complete.
