Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR CURRENT DTC 
    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Connect CONSULT and check for existing ENGINE diagnostic trouble codes.
    3. Check for DTC P225C-00 current on the CONSULT screen.

    Is applicable DTC current?

    YES

    GO TO 2 .

    NO

    Refer to Intermittent Incident .

  2. CHECK FOR CURRENT NOX SENSOR DTCS 

    Using CONSULT check for the following ENGINE diagnostic trouble codes related to NOx sensor:

    • U029D-00
    • P2201-00
    • P2202-00
    • P2209-00
    • P220A-00

    Are there any of the above current DTCs related to NOx sensor?

    YES

    Go to the appropriate diagnosis procedure. Refer to DTC Index .

    NO

    GO TO 3 .

  3. CHECK FOR OTHER CURRENT PRIORITY DTCS 

    Using CONSULT, check ENGINE diagnostic trouble codes for the following current higher priority DTC:

    • P0127-00

    Is the above DTC current?

    YES

    Go to the appropriate diagnosis procedure. Refer to DTC Index .

    NO

    GO TO 4 .

  4. CHECK FOR CURRENT TURBOCHARGER OR EGR RELATED DTCS 

    Using CONSULT check ENGINE diagnostic trouble codes for the following DTCs related to the turbocharger or EGR:

    • P0049-00
    • P0127-00
    • P0405-00
    • P046C-00
    • P2263-00
    • P2413-00
    • P2457-00
    • P2580-00

    Are there any of the above current DTCs related to turbocharger or EGR valve?

    YES

    Go to the appropriate diagnosis procedure. Refer to DTC Index .

    NO

    GO TO 5 .

  5. INSPECT THE AFTER TREATMENT INTAKE NOX SENSOR INSTALLATION 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Inspect the after treatment intake NOx sensor for proper installation.

    Sensor properly installed?

    YES

    GO TO 6 .

    NO

    Properly install the after treatment intake NOx sensor.

  6. ERASE DTCS 
    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Using CONSULT, select ENGINE and erase DTCs.
    3. Operate the engine within the "Conditions for Clearing the DTC".

    Is P225C-00 DTC current?

    YES

    Diagnosis procedure needs to be repeated. Refer to DTC Description .

    NO

    Repair complete.
