The DEF supply pump assembly precisely measures the amount of after treatment diesel exhaust fluid to be injected into the after treatment system. The DEF supply pump assembly has three primary cycles. A priming cycle makes sure that after treatment diesel exhaust fluid is available at the DEF supply pump assembly. During the dosing cycle, after treatment diesel exhaust fluid is being delivered to the after treatment dosing valve. A purge cycle occurs when the engine is turned OFF. The purge cycle makes sure that all the after treatment diesel exhaust fluid is removed from the diesel exhaust fluid lines and dosing valve.
